Telegram chat connection and filters

Telegram video and messages are connected separately. First add Telegram to the channel list, then open its settings → Chat.

Connect a group

You need administrator rights in the Telegram group. For channel comments, connect the linked discussion group, not the Telegram channel itself.

Click Connect, select the correct group in Telegram and add the offered bot. Copy the command from the second step in StreamVi and send it to that group on behalf of the group, as the form instructs. Use the exact issued command: it links the selected StreamVi channel to the chat.

Return to the Cabinet and click Check chat connection. Wait for Connected and the group name. If checking fails, verify the group, administrator rights, bot membership and sent command; check again after correcting them.

Choose incoming messages

For the connected group, open Message filter and select a mode:

From the latest published post	Discussion of the latest post
From the latest post published at stream start	Discussion of the post determined for the start of the broadcast
Select a post manually	Discussion of your selected post

For manual mode, click Select a Telegram post or Change post. Choose a post from the list or enter its link in the corresponding dialog tab. Check the selected text and link, then save the choice. Save in chat settings applies the filter.

If Telegram has messages but StreamVi does not, check whether they belong to the selected discussion. Disconnect immediately unlinks the group; connecting again requires repeating the connection steps.
