Custom SRT server
My SRT server sends a stream to an SRT receiver. SRT is a transport and does not establish one resolution or bitrate ceiling for every server. The receiving system must support the video and audio formats. Official SRT Alliance FAQ.
Confirm with the receiver
| Parameter | What to agree on |
|---|---|
| URL | Address, port and connection options |
| Connection mode | Which side connects and which listens |
| Stream ID | Stream identifier if required by the receiver |
| Latency | Sufficient buffering for network conditions |
| Encryption | Shared passphrase if enabled |
| Video and audio | Container, codecs, bitrate, resolution, FPS and keyframes |
Do not guess latency units: the SRT library and applications can use different units. For example, latency in FFmpeg's documentation is expressed in microseconds.
An srt:// address alone does not imply encryption. The passphrase must match the other end. SRT library options.
Enter the complete URL in the My SRT server form. SRT output and the protocol used to send video into StreamVi are configured independently.
